Public Employee and Peace Officer Litigation/Employment Discrimination

We represent private and public employees, and police officers, whose employers have discriminated against them because of their gender, race, national origin, religion, disability, sexual preference, political affiliation or family leave. We also pursue retaliation claims under Title VII, the Fair Employment & Housing Act, Section l983/First Amendment and various Labor Codes including Section 1102.5. We also advocate for employees who expose governmental fraud, mismanagement and abuse.

Police Misconduct

Although we represent police and other law-enforcement officers, we also pursue claims against those who abuse their position of authority by violating our clients’ civil rights. We also represent detainees, prisoners and their families in wrongful-death or catastrophic-injury cases, and arrestees who were the victims of egregious violations.

Constitutional Violations and Unfair Business Practices

Our clients rely upon our multi-disciplinary approach to recover what they have lost from businesses and government entities. Individuals may seek civil-recovery remedies under statutes prohibiting financial abuse of elders and dependent adults, discrimination, unlawful business practices, and violations of government agencies’ mandatory duties. Clients with cases against government agencies include those whose rights were egregiously abused by the system, real property that was improperly taken or regulated, or subjected to retaliatory penalties, withholdings or intentional delays. In addition, we represent minors who may recover for losses arising from their parents’ wrongful deaths and their being mistreated in violation of state and federal laws. Foster children whose rights are violated may pursue claims against those responsible for the harm. When a public agency creates the danger that causes the harm, it may be liable for third-party conduct.
